The HP 17-cn0002sf against the competition
The HP 17-cn0002sf is currently shown in promotion at Amazon and offers an interesting configuration/price ratio for its category where it is one of the cheapest to be equipped with a processor with such a powerful graphics solution, such a high storage capacity and to come with Windows.
Chassis, connectors, screen of the HP 17-cn0002sf
It has an elegant and discreet look with its thin and light silver design.
The connectivity integrated in this versatile Ultrabook is good, consisting of 1 USB-C, a practical HDMI video output to easily connect this computer to, for example, a monitor or TV, Wi-Fi ax wireless modules (newer and more efficient than wifi ac) and Bluetooth 5.2 for external connections and communication, the Ethernet and audio ports, not to mention the 2 USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 compatible) which guarantees transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 when you connect USB 3.0 devices to it.
We appreciate that we can illuminate the keys of the chiclet keyboard, which is very practical to better distinguish them in the case of limited ambient light.
Thanks to IPS technology, the screen has significant vertical and horizontal viewing angles. As a bonus, the anti-glare treatment makes it more readable than a glossy panel in a bright environment (eg outdoors) and less tiring for the eyes in the long run. It also lends itself very well to the display of videos and more generally High Definition content thanks to its 16:9 format and accurate Full HD definition.
Performance, autonomy of the HP 17-cn0002sf
The HP 17-cn0002sf is a thin and light full-size laptop for everyday general use.
It benefits from SSD storage which significantly improves the responsiveness of this elegant silver Ultrabook on a daily basis compared to a simple hard drive.
In fact, the SSD is much faster than a hard drive, but also less energy-consuming, more robust and quieter.
Result thanks to the SSD, starting/stopping, processing and starting applications is much faster than with a simple hard drive, and we get to the map of online games faster.
Despite the lack of a dedicated on-board graphics card, you can indeed view photos and videos as well as play modest titles, thanks to the Iris Xe graphics part (which we tested).
The Iris Xe is integrated directly into the processor, a low-power Quad Core i5-1135G7 Intel Tiger Lake associated with 8 GB of RAM to provide good overall performance suitable for many users.
If the 512 GB of the SSD turns out to be too small, we can of course fall back on an external storage unit. Preferring a USB 3.0 / USB-C device is then an interesting option to get fast transfers.
As for autonomy, count on about 7 hours of battery life in light use for this computer whose controlled weight and finesse facilitate transport for a 17 inch. However, this large size is not positioned as one of the easiest to transport around, but is mostly comfortable for mainly seated use (e.g. at home).
