Arte designs disruptive capsule collection for Samsung – Samsung Newsroom Belgium

A collaboration infused with creative expression

HASwith the release of the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, the brand is proving once again that it lives up to its #DoWhatYouCant credo. To present this state-of-the-art smartphone to the community of creative talents, Samsung has set its sights on Arte – the creative label with a streetwear soul – for an exclusive collaboration. A collaboration that has led to an innovative capsule collection!

What started as a collection of t-shirts in 2009 is now a kaleidoscopic universe. Arte embodies a mix of contemporary artistic expressions ranging from modern architecture to music. Founder and director Bertony Da Silva’s avant-garde aesthetic attests to a deep-rooted experience in graphic design, as well as a connection to life in a city like Antwerp. Arte is therefore much more than a clothing brand. It is both a creative label and a way of life with a great sense of aesthetics and a mindset that thinks outside the box.

“Above all, through Arte, we want to be close to our community and put their creativity to the test. To do this, we try to convert artistic and current concepts into our ready-to-wear collections. The innovative collaborations we sign with young designers and artists, and now with Samsung, contribute to the overall creative image. – Bertony Da Silva

Who better than Arte to put the new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in the spotlight. A smartphone that pushes technological boundaries and encourages makers to #DoWhatYouCant. The exciting innovations of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, such as the Nightography concept, the two-day battery life and the built-in S-pen to visualize all your ideas, put limitless creativity at your fingertips tomorrow.

“I have a busy schedule and often forget to charge my phone. So it’s nice to be able to use the Samsung S22 Ultra for so long without having to charge it. The sleek design fits perfectly with the smartphone. – Bertony Da Silva

For this unique collaboration, Arte has designed a case for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, a watch band for the Galaxy Watch4 and a case for Galaxy Buds, each available in full blue and in a blue gradient. The label is also making its mark on the digital scene with a unique interface for the Galaxy Watch4. Finally, a running jacket in cotton twill in a blue hue completes the *already noisy* capsule collection.

Bertony Da Silva was inspired by the roots of Samsung during the design process. On the one hand, we find the unmistakable Korean roots of the technological brand, in which Samsung’s vintage iconography also occupies a prominent place. The race jacket, which acts as the centerpiece, is the embodiment of this inspiration, visually transposed. Intended as a nod to Korean racing culture, it heralds the introduction of vintage Samsung logos in the form of patches. Also in the design, Bertony Da Silva has remained true to the DNA of Arte, with subtle details such as the heart-shaped chain and a graphic gradient throughout the collection.

“My team and I felt it was important to create a collection that brought a visual innovation to the world of technology. Graphically Arte is recognizable and we wanted to convey that in the context of this collaboration. The collection contains pieces that you really want to wear and own, regardless of the technical aspect. The fact that the accessories are also suitable for Samsung products makes the collection distinctly contemporary. As part of this collaboration, we really wanted to design technological products that can be easily integrated into your clothing style. †
