Honor stocks new PCs and wearables

On the sidelines of the Magic 4 Pro launch in France, Honor is announcing the launch of several new products. A Watch GS3 connected watch, Earbuds 3 Pro headphones and new MagicBook laptops appear.

Honor is full of novelties this month of May, starting with its new high-end smartphone. The Magic 4 Pro confirms the return to the forefront of the brand and we have already been able to test it. Honor also has other products in the boxes and launches a new connected watch, true wireless earphones and AMD Ryzen laptops.

Honor Watch GS3: a watch with an elegant design

The HonorWatch GS3 bets on an elegant design reminiscent of classic watches, but it adds an 8-channel artificial intelligence engine to measure heart rate. Without going into too much detail, the company calls a “many features” ranging from health to well-being, without forgetting sports or fast charging. There are also 100 sport modes, a virtual trainer and the promise of 15 days of autonomy.

A watch in classic and versatile look allowing Honor to bolster its ecosystem. It is not entirely new as it was presented in China before it showed up at MWC 2022. We could detect the presence of a 1.43 inch round AMOLED display † with a definition of 466 x 466 pixels. The watch provides a brightness of up to 1000 nits and, as confirmed by Honor, has the functions you would expect from this type of watch. In addition to the heart rate measurement, there is also a monitoring of the blood oxygen level (SpO2). Autonomy is ensured by a 451 mAh battery.

The Watch GS3 will be available from May 30th in two colors; Midnight black and blue ocean between 229 euros and 249 euros depending on the color.

Earbuds 3 Pro: These headphones want to hurt the AirPods Pro

The manufacturer also relies on headphones called Earplugs 3 Pro† The design undoubtedly reminds you of the AirPods Pro, a habit among manufacturers. These true wireless have an automatic active noise canceling function (adaptive ANC) that allows you to switch between three noise canceling modes (cozy, medium, ultra). The headphones choose based on the ambient noise.

Honor is also proud of its offer the first “flagship true wireless headphones” industry standard with 5C fast charging technology. To find out more about these headphones, take a look in the rear view mirror as the Earbuds 3 Pro were already present in Barcelona. We were then able to discover that these headphones are a coaxial design with dual speaker† Quite rare on true wireless, this is reflected in the integration of an 11mm transducer for bass and mids; as well as a piezoelectric tweeter for “crystalline highs”.

about the “intelligent” ANC function, ultra mode targets the airplane or subway by providing a noise reduction of 46 dB. The general mode is more for walking down the street or in a cafe, while the cozy mode is more active in a library or workplace.

Another curiosity of these headphones, they were presented in Barcelona as suitable for measure body temperature in real time of the wearer. On the autonomy side, Honor promises to 6 hours on a single charge and offers a charging case. The latter can be charged via wire or induction to complete three additional charges, or a total of 24 hours† A quick 5-minute charge provides 2 hours of music listening time.

Finally, each earphone weighs 5.1 grams and Honor lists a IP54 certified for its in-ear headphones. They must therefore be resistant to perspiration, splash water and dust.

MagicBook: a new series of laptops under AMD

The last announcement is for new Honor MagicBooks equipped with the processor AMD Ryzen 5 5500U and the integrated Radeon Graphics graphics card. The brand announces that its AMD machines are available in 14 and 15 inches † with a FullView EyeComfort display to improve eye comfort. These are Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) non-touch IPS panels, with a screen-to-body ratio of 87% on the 15-inch model.

These machines come with: 8GB RAM DDR4 and 256 GB (14″) or 512 GB (15″) NVMe SSD† Connectivity includes a USB-C port, an HDM and two USB-A ports; as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack or fingerprint reader. We are also entitled to WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.

Honor mentions the presence of two heat pipes with a large fan so that the Ryzen 5 5500U processor can express itself without overheating. On both versions there is a 56Wh battery and the promise of use “uninterrupted all day”

Honor announces that it Magic Book 14 will be on sale from May 18 on its official, at 749 euros† For those looking for a larger screen size; the Magic Book 15 is available the same day for the price of 799 euros† Finally, both products will be available on Amazon starting May 30.
