MaXoE Festival 2022: The Video Games Selection Categories Platforms/Action & FPS/TPS/Shooters (Mobiles, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One)

And here is the Video Games Selection for the Festival in the categories: Platforms/Action & FPS/TPS/Shooters. So obviously it’s subjective, of course we missed some titles, but it’s the result of the team’s work, hope you like it!

Well, the difficulty is also categorizing the games. We tried to create categories that correspond to common themes. We’ll give you an overview of our conclusion for each of the games and you can click on their title to access our full test.

Platforms/Action

Ratchet & Clank – Rift Apart: “The latest installment in the series, Rift Apart, is without a doubt a technological showcase for the PS5 with simply sublime visuals with lots of spectacular effects. So much so that if the feature of flaws remains underused in the theme of gameplay, its technical use is impeccable and amazes us with every viewing. For the rest, without revolutionizing it, Insomniac Games offers us a pleasant adventure, while maintaining the qualities that have made the series famous with its engaging and developed characters, its multiple gameplay stages, its object search, its nervous action and of course its replayability. Ultimately, Rift Apart is an undeniable asset and a must-have for owners of the Sony machine. †

FIST – Forged in Shadow Torch: “Second software from the independent team TiGames, FIST is a beautiful production that is very pleasant to browse through its universe and its Dieselpunk atmosphere. If it falls into various Metroidvania traps with a “molasses” beginning, full passages or through a Level Design that is sometimes a little too wise, it is by digging a little deeper that we discover a richer and more complex thing than the first seems, all this is offset by the usual mechanics of the genre involving exploration, the discovery of secrets and the acquisition of new powers/weapons. FIST may not be the best in its category, but we had a great time in her business and there is no doubt that it will be for you too, and all the more so as the developers are looking for the resolution solved some issues since the game’s launch, such as adding an Easy mode and more checkpoints. We would therefore like to come back to Rayton after the implementation of the VF (subtitles) that is planned in the coming days/weeks. †

Kirby and the Forgotten World: “For his thirtieth birthday, Kirby turns much of his life upside down. Not only does it offer a very successful real 3D epic for the first time, but it also brings a great breath of fresh air with Barbapapa style Transmorphism. Whether you know the series or not, whether you’re young or old, it’s impossible to miss this episode of Kirby and the Forgotten World. The fun is there and encourages us to do 100% without feeling repetitive. A very good episode! †

Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga: “It’s a success. The license manages to renew itself beautifully with a touch of RPG and shooting in TPS mode. The title is very action-oriented and also offers a lot of exploration phases in free mode. The fun is definitely there, especially as the content is simply impressive with a very large number of side quests. Fans of the saga will be delighted, regardless of their age. †

Revita: “Without revolutionizing the genre’s formula as it isn’t for that, Revita is still a small diamond in the rough. Cut into six years of development by the creator BenStar, we feel the different inspirations and the elements that make the software a stand-alone work with a personality of its own. For example, the story and themes make you want to keep going to fully explore it, the gameplay mechanics are very addictive, fun and the risk/win system makes for some reflection, all with accessibility options. In addition, the visual palette with pixel art and the music are very catchy. If you like or want to discover the genre, we really recommend diving into Revita! †

Rogue Legacy 2: “We’re not going to make any suspense, Rogue Legacy 2 is very easily hoisted between Roguelike’s flagships, Roguelite. Not only does it manage to stand out from its predecessor by outdoing it thanks to multiple new features, but it also includes refreshing components, such as that of the Metroidvania or its cartoon visual. More generous than before, it really becomes very addictive during the games, so much so that we want to discover everything, know everything at our fingertips, and this without ever seeing the fatigue point to the end of his nose. †

Metroid Dread : The new Metroid is as demanding as ever. Soon a test in our sections!

Mario Party Superstars : The fun is always there. Soon a test in our sections!

soldiers : Zelphy tells us that the title should appear in the festival, so there it is Soon a test in our sections!

FPS/TPS/Gunners

Battlefield 2042: “Yes, I regret the lack of a campaign. But for the rest, the title really hits the mark! The battles are exciting and the Portal mode offers many possibilities. The opportunity to play in the atmosphere of old titles is a real treat. And then EA seems to want to regularly enrich the title, which can only please everyone. There are still a few minor balancing issues that will likely be corrected very soon. So it’s all good! The ideal score would have been an 8.5, but let’s not get bored, EA and DICE are offering an FPS in the form of a gaming service that will be showing off in living rooms for a long time to come. †

Chorus: “Without revolutionizing the Space Opera Shooter genre, Chorus is without a doubt at the top of the genre. Although it has minor flaws, the software pleased us from start to finish with its exciting screenplay, its dense and rich lore, its immersive sound design / OST, not to mention the exciting, nervous confrontations and good challenge (by choice hardship and/or permanent death). In addition, if you suffer from “motion sickness” you normally have nothing to fear, everything is taken care of down to the last detail. Without praising it further, Chorus is an immersive adventure that we highly recommend. †

Call Of Duty Vanguard: “We’re not going to lie to each other, this new episode of Call of Duty is not part of the highly anticipated Next-Gen revival. Based on the graphics engine from the Modern Warfare reboot, we liked the war story-format campaign approach reminiscent of its direct competitor Battlefield. And this despite an incoherent narration and an unequal treatment of the characters, with Polina Petrova being the protagonist who emerges best in front of her comrades. Of course the pad sensations in the hands are still there and we find the FPS spirit. At the Multiplayer level, two new modes have appeared and the Zombie mode has also returned from the dead since the Cold War, unfortunately we will not go into the details of this, the many current bugs that make the games very complicated and practically unplayable . In short, if Vanguard isn’t the episode that will relaunch the CoD machine, the title can be tamed and enjoyed.

death loop: The new title of the frenchies captured the critics. Soon a test in our sections!

halo infinity: An exciting open world but a bit shy multiplayer. Soon a test in our sections!

Rainbow Six Extraction : The fun surprise of the year with really fun co-op! Soon a test in our sections!

far cry 6: the license continues to amaze us with its stories. Soon a test in our sections!

evil death: Co-op again, but in a very bleak world. Soon a test in our sections!
