As a 30-year-old, Hervé Vilard tragically lost “his love” and his unborn child

Sometimes life is so cruel that you feel you have no right to happiness. The difficulties of life are sometimes difficult to overcome, and the loss of loved ones is even more: this is the story of Hervé Vilard’s life.

Hervé Vilard is not only known for his many hit songs, but also for being the first French singer to openly reveal his homosexuality. Several years after he came out, the interpreter of the title ¨Mourir ou vivre¨ created the surprise by revealing to be in love with a woman.

His happiness was highlighted when his companion told him she was carrying his child. He was so happy to finally be able to fulfill his dream of becoming a father. Unfortunately, the mother and the future baby died in a tragic traffic accident, which threw the singer into deep grief.

After he finally managed to lift his head, he found love again in the arms of a mannequin. Their professional schedules got the better of their relationship. Shortly after, he was told she died while carrying his baby while unaware of her.

Back to the facts.

In the 1970s, Hervé Vilard was at the height of his career. He traveled the world to meet his audience, and that was how he fell in love with South America, specifically Mexico.

There he met a certain Consuella, whom he affectionately nicknamed ¨Lalla¨. It did not take long before they started an exciting love story.

Hervé Vilard felt for the handsome Mexican, a feeling that he was new to him. He described his girlfriend as “a friend, a sister, his love”.

He wanted to share everything with his girlfriend: his happiness, travel and above all starting a family with her. The singer goes from thought to action, and he becomes overjoyed when he learns that his girlfriend is pregnant. He projects himself directly into the future and is already thinking about the child’s gender and first name:

SelvfølgeligIt will be a boy, of course. He wants to be beautiful and intelligent, just like his father Hervé! We will call him Pedro, Pierre. Peter or Pedro¨,

he had thought.

This daughter of teachers from Chiapas literally turned the world of the singer upside down because, for the first time in his life, he saw himself at the head of a family:

“I convinced myself that I was created to start a family, that our mixed child would be the most beautiful, the strongest (…) She needed me. I needed her. In France, I had less success “In Mexico, I had been a national idol, and I had found a friend with whom we loved each other insanely.”

he confided.

Unfortunately, his dream of fatherhood suddenly and unexpectedly broke down.

Lalla tragically lost her life in a car accident and also took their future baby. Much more than grief, the interpreter of apCapri it’s over¨ felt a deep regret. In his book raFrom ivy in the trees¨ (Fayards editions) he told about the course of this tragic accident:

“Exit from the road. A car in a ravine. Lalla went away and took with her what was to be our greatest victory (…) Our child died. Before it was born. Took with me my desire to become a father without past. He would have made me a superman. I would not have given him any explanations. Why so many lost loves? I claimed him with all my soul, this little mulatto. No doubt he would have brought me the courage to achieve other achievements. ” ,

Hervé Vilard was devastated by this double drama. He returned to France and found solace in writing. He composed a large number of songs and collaborated with talented women such as Dalida and Marguerite Duras.

The singer finally recovered from this grief, but he had not given up his dream of fatherhood. Years later, he found love again with another woman: Alexandra Giraud. They met on a plane and Hervé fell wildly in love with this famous model.

They settled in a magnificent apartment in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. They wanted a child, but after trying for a year and a half, they gave up the idea in spite of themselves.

Determined to make his life with the model, Hervé asked him several times for his hand, in vain. The 3rd attempt was the right one and Alexandra ended up agreeing to marry him. Everything went well in their relationship, but their respective commitments will get better from their love.

While Hervé Vilard traveled all over the world, Alexandra in turn chained trips and shootings. They could no longer spend time together and their apartment turned into a place to visit. The separation seemed inevitable, and it finally happened in the early 90s.

It’s another big disappointment for Hervé Vilard, and the worst awaited him. On November 29, 1992, his ex-fiancé, Alexandra Giraud, died of viral meningitis, and that was not all: she was pregnant with Hervé.

No one was this disease, it would have given the famous singer the opportunity to finally realize this happiness, which is denied him. Unfortunately, she died only 35 years old and bore her child.

Hervé felt that he was reliving the nightmare that had haunted him for years and that he had taken a long time to recover from. This new disillusionment threw him into a black depression.

He found the support and comfort he needed from members of his record label, Tréma.

“The bosses, Régis Talar and Jacques Revaux, knew everything about me. My dramas: my mother, this child that I did not have while trying, gay as I am, with this woman who died pregnant … Strengthened by this cocoon that they represented, I was invincible! ¨,

he wrote in his book.

Life has not been easy for him, but Hervé Vilard has always held on.
