Chassis, connectors, screen of the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14ITL05 (82HS00ULFR)
Open 360° to transform into a tablet, this versatile laptop with a thin and light dark silver graphite gray design has an elegant and discreet yet original look.
Indeed, the multi-touch tactile technology allows the screen to interact with the system and applications by simply placing at least one finger on it (or an optional stylus), and this through pressure / gestures.
Touch also includes a glossy treatment that gives the colors punch, but is subject to reflections in a bright environment (eg outdoors).
The screen is also great for displaying High Definition content, such as videos, as it uses Full HD definition coupled with a 16:9 format. In addition, the viewing angles, both horizontally and vertically, are important thanks to the IPS technology, but not high-end because the colorimetry is standard here.
In any case, the chiclet keyboard can be backlit, which will be appreciated by those who use users in low-light environments, as it makes it easier to distinguish the keys.
In terms of connectivity, this versatile 2-in-1 Ultrabook is well equipped with its USB-C, its Wi-Fi ax wireless modules (newer and more efficient than wifi ac) and Bluetooth 5.1 for remote connections and communication, the audio port, the practical HDMI video output for easy connection to, for example, a TV or a monitor or the 2 USB 3.0 (compatible with USB 2.0) that transfers up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 when you connect USB 3.0 peripherals.
Performance, battery life of the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14ITL05 (82HS00ULFR)
The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14ITL05 (82HS00ULFR) is a thin and light compact High Definition laptop that converts into a tablet intended for versatile everyday mobile use.
Many users will be pleased with the overall performance of this thin and light laptop PC as it is built around a quad-core i7-1165G7 Intel Tiger Lake processor with low power and a good amount of 16 GB of RAM.
And all the more so because this hybrid laptop computer allows you to watch photos and videos, as well as enjoy modest games, while it does not have a dedicated graphics card, thanks to the Iris Xe graphics part (which we tested) integrated into the Core i7.
However, it is better to opt for a PC with a non-low power processor and/or an adequate dedicated graphics card if you plan to regularly perform work that consumes processor and/or graphics resources.
But this will obviously have an impact on the autonomy, while what is offered here will appeal to nomads, as it is about 9 hours on battery with light use. This is all the more important because this versatile hybrid Ultrabook is easy to transport due to its lightness, compactness and finesse.
On the storage side, there is an SSD which significantly improves responsiveness and fluidity on a daily basis compared to a simple hard drive.
It must be said that an SSD is much faster but also consumes less energy, is more robust and quieter.
In practice, for example, the SSD ensures much faster start/stops, software launches and processing than a hard drive, or even a faster arrival on the cards of online games.
It is a 512 GB SSD integrated here, a capacity comparable to that of standard hard drives. However, if you need more space, you can use an external storage unit such as a USB-C / USB 3.0 device to take advantage of fast transfers.
