How do you choose your gaming PC?

To choose a gaming PC, you must first consider two absolutely crucial criteria: the processor and the graphics card. For the processor, we recommend an Intel Core i5, Core i7 or Core i9 and on the AMD side a Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7 processor.

The graphics card must be allocated and the main manufacturers are Nvidia and AMD. Depending on the resolution we play with (Full HD, QHD or 4K), we can settle for a mid-range graphics card or go to the top of the range.

Opting for a PC with a relatively scalable design that is easy to access to add RAM, swap drives or graphics cards is generally a good idea, as a gaming PC will last for many years by regularly upgrading its components.

The specifics of a gaming PC compared to a basic PC

A gaming PC is basically a PC, but not every PC can be suitable for gaming. Except for certain types of games, a gamer needs a certain amount of power and especially graphics power that only a dedicated graphics card can provide. We usually can’t play well with the graphics cores integrated into a processor and we need a good graphics card, often bulky because it needs a powerful cooling system.

The processor also has to be powerful and the memory fast enough to have instant access to game resources. So you could say that a gaming PC is just a high-end PC. But there are other differences, especially in terms of design. Gamers often appreciate PCs that allow for the installation of multicolored and programmable LEDs on the front or even inside the PC, with a Plexiglas panel allowing them to be seen running.
